Dr. LiChi Po

Dr. Cliff Po is the president and
founder of Micro-Simulation Technology, a software developer and consulting
service firm in Montville, New Jersey, USA.
The company has developed a PC-based program - PCTRAN for reactor simulation. Dr. Po is a
graduate of National Taiwan University in 1968 and has a PhD in physics from
University of Manchester in UK in 1973.
He has published papers on thermal-hydraulics, safety analysis and
radiation transport. His previous employments include University of Michigan in
Ann Arbor, Ebasco Services of New York, Consolidated Edison of New York and GPU
Nuclear. During the aftermath of GPU’s Three Mile Island accident, he
participated in the event investigation and modification of the undamaged twin
unit. He has been a Lecturer Director of
IAEA’s “Advanced Reactor Simulation Workshop” since 1996. MST has provided simulator models to US
Nuclear Regulatory Commission, Oak Ridge National Laboratory and national
nuclear agencies of Japan, Switzerland,
South Africa, Taiwan, Pakistan and Mexico.
Numerous utility companies use its product for training and emergency
planning.
Dr. Po has licensed his company’s
simulation software to universities in China, Taiwan, US, Japan and other
countries. Dozens of students have
completed research projects and earned their graduate degrees based on the
simulation platform.
Dr. Po is the founding president of
Chinese American Nuclear Technology Association, a non-profitable organization
register in Delaware since 1993. CANTA
currently has about 120 active members and keeps regular contact with
counterpart societies in China, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Singapore.
