Dr. Jonas C.T. Wang
is a Partner at Sycamore Ventures. He is responsible for life sciences/
biotech ventures.
Dr. Wang has over 30 years
experience in Healthcare R&D management and business development.
Before becoming a venture capitalist in mid-2001, he was Vice President,
Research and Technology of Johnson & Johnson Consumer Products Worldwide
RD&E responsible for the development of research strategy, new product
technology, patent strategy, competitive intelligence, and new measurement
methodology for Skin and Hair Care products. He was also a Corporate
Director of Johnson & Johnson Topical Formulations and Drug Delivery
Technology Resource Center (TRC), responsible for the applied research
of topical formulations and drug delivery systems for all Johnson
& Johnson sister companies. Prior to joining J&J, Dr. Wang was Associate
Director of Basic Pharmaceutics, the Pharmaceutical Research Institute
of Bristol-Myers Squibb Co.
He has been listed in Who's
Who in America, and Who's Who in the World, and Strathmore’s Who’s
Who in the World. He was a winner of many awards e.g., the Johnson
Medal, the highest technical achievement award at Johnson & Johnson
Inc., for one of his inventions: anti-wrinkle cream, the Distinguished
Alumni award of National Defense Medical Center, the Distinguished
Alumni award of University of Iowa, USA. During his employment with
J&J, Dr. Wang developed more than 10 core technologies, filed more
than 30 business-related patent applications with 15 patents issued
worldwide, and presented over 100 presentations to scientific symposiums.
Dr. Wang is experienced in managing technological innovations, core
competency, business strategies, competitive intelligence and patent
strategies. In 2000, Dr. Wang participated at the Congressional
Business Summit in Washington, D. C., in leading the group exploring
emerging markets in America.
Jonas now is a member of
AAPS, CIE, and ACPA, and an associate Director of the biotechnology
program of Monte Jade Technological Association – Greater New York
Chapter. He also had served as a member of the FDA's Bioavailability
& Bioequivalency subcommittees.
