2001 CIE-USA/GNYC High School Student Scholarship

Purpose
The purpose of CIE-USA/GNYC (the Chinese Institute of Engineers-USA Greater New York Chapter) awarding High School Student Scholarship is to recognize outstanding high school students of Chinese heritage, and to encourage them to advance their education in engineering, science, and other professional fields.

Award
The selected students will be awarded with a framed certificate, and $200 or equivalent. The Award Winners shall be notified by an e-mail in September. Each award recipient is required to attend the CIE-USA Convention Evening Banquet to receive the award. Each shall be given a free banquet ticket on site. The CIE-USA Annual Convention is to be held at Newark Airport Marriott, Newark International Airport, Newark, NJ, on October 6, 2001.

Qualifications
Applicants shall be 11th or 12th graders in high school as of October 2001. CIE encourages all 11/12 graders to apply. However, recipients awarded in the previous year(s) shall not be considered for the year 2001.

Supporting Documents
Applicants should complete Application Form with the following credentials:
1. An official high school transcript
2. List of extracurricular activities and/ or community service with brief descriptions
3. Honors/awards and achievements
4. An essay on your career goals and development plan (750 words maximum)
