John Du is the Director of Intel Communications Technology China Lab. responsible for building a world-class Communications Technology research lab in China.
Dr. Du has over 15 years of technical and management experience in networking, communications and system area. He joined Intel in 1994 as a senior software engineer in Oregon, US. Before he took the current position, he worked as the product development lead, architect, engineering manager and biz unit director in several Intel biz groups, including Personal Conferencing Product Group, Intel Architecture Lab, Intel Online Service, and most recently, Network Processing Group. Some key development projects that he has involved include Proshare Video Conference system, Internet multicast video streaming system, HDTV receiver on PC, OSS system integration for data center and IXA Netowk processor applications.
Dr. Du is a native Beijinger and went back to China to start up the Intel IXA Development center in 2001. He has accumulated extensive experience over the past 3 years on people hiring and development, organization development and competency groth in China, working with local Intel customers and academia. He on behave of the Intel hosted the 3rd IRI (Industrial Research Institute) CTO forum featured the discussion on how to do biz in China.
Dr. Du holds 4 patents and has more than 10 technical publications in the area of network communication and signal processing. Dr. Du received his B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Beijing Institute of Technology in 1983, 1986 and 1989, respectively.
